16 – 17 May 2018, IET London
Luca Fornasiero is presenting the Comtest Wireless paper at the 8th International Conference on Railway Engineering (ICRE conference) – The technical challenges of monitoring ERTMS systems & use of a value engineering approach to increase capacity & reduce costs for the rail sector.
Session 8 of the conference is focussed on ‘Signalling and Traffic Management Systems’. It runs during the afternoon on 17 May and will be chaired by Mark Newton, Senior Asset Engineer at Network Rail.
Luca will be the first of 3 speakers in this session. His talk, number 8.1, is scheduled for 15.10.
The paper has already received good (4 star) feedback from the review committee. Comments include: “A very appropriate real issue. There is a need for predictive or condition evaluation methods for the whole of the ERTMS. As the European roll-out continues its significance increases” and “The topic is relevant to academic researchers and engineers who are interested in using the analytical tools of the wayside monitoring systems to predict and plan systems maintenance (value engineering) to realise the positive cost benefits associated with ERTMS for rail industry.”
Session 8 of the conference is Signalling and Traffic Management Systems, which will be chaired by Mark Newton, Senior Asset Engineer at Network Rail
